allow me to warn everyone in advance...when you come to visit, wear comfy shoes. i'm not kidding. we live on a gargantuan mountain, the only way up is the stairs and i think the parking lot is in some valley a mile away.

we're all moved in! so far it's been fun. our roomate lindsay is way cool. last nite we saw all all the "black sunday" frat party insanity. there were cops and firemen all over, and literally about 5,000 people walking back and forth down this tiny sidewalk trying to get into a party. madness, i tell ya. lisa opened the wrong door at the end of the stairs and set off the emergency alarm, which scared the shit outta us! so that was hilarious. then today, lisa and i decided to go find out where all our classes were. sadly, we chose to do this from noon until 2 - the hottest hours of the day! we have definetely hit our prime! we walked up millions of stairs and hills, and i swear by the time we got back in the room, we had lost half our sanity. then, we went to this new student assembly and learned the school cheers, and other random things. and we got to see the school mascots. there's a boy bear and a girl bear. the boy is fine but the girl has this little blue skirt on and shakes her but when she walks-it's quite disturbing. lisa did not like it at all. afterwards they had a free barbeque, and as we were leaving this lemonade bottle full of dry ice exploded 2 feet away and one girl got it on her skin and this psycho food service lady called the ems team to make sure she was safe. everyone thought it was a bomb. haha!

ah, memories. remember back in the day when we had crap summer reading books, mr ortega was more commonly known as "the new guy", erika and i were still lab partners in anatomy, when we finally came to the realization that bosco games were way boring and we all went to in-n-out instead and nina told us to mix things together to make fake vomit and throw it on people's lawns to kill the grass, lovely white in anatomy, listening to erika's '80's music and harassing the 8th graders in the same class, mendez's little physics magic tricks before we realized he was a perv, english class survivor, trading places and lies about extra credit in english, teacher nicknames, and this brings me to october...

after exploring the school website of kaitlyn, i am most saddened. damn 150 year old k-12 schools with 3 full libraries, 115 athletic teams (more than most colleges), real college counselors and workshops, school colors of buff and blue (don't even ask), and a women's air rifle team. they have a whole builing just to house all the athletic awards! it's the size of some colleges. i am overcome with jealousy. sj's site cannot hold a candle to this extravagance. oh, and to all my fellow jetsers-we went to a blue ribbon school, and don't you forget it!!! our only pride!
Lisa, i think i have found the reasoning behind your abnormally strange dreams-you probably sleep with your head towards the south-and as for everyone else, learn how the direction you sleep affects you-read on...
According to the art of Feng Shui "depending on your needs at the time, you may find it beneficial to sleep with your head aligned with the directions of north, south, east, or west. While north is often considered teh best direction in which to sleep, the other directions also offer their own special benefits:
NORTH-strengthens physical health and vitality
SOUTH-awakens intuition and the ability to recall dreams and memories
EAST-increases energy levels and balances sluggishness and depression
WEST-enhances relaxation and balances stress and restlessness"
yes, so all old ladies should sleep facing the north from now on!

speaking of luke wilson, guess who is going to be filming a movie at the best university ever? yep, luke himself. i think we shall have to try to sneak a picture or two without looking like stalkers either. so i've been watching a ton of movies lately (damn all of you who are already in colllege!), including both the old and new oceans 11, actually i kinda like the old done with the rat pack better, it's much funnier. all i have to say, steph, is watch your back if the power cuts out. i also watched van wilder, which was also filmed at the best school ever, and you can totally make out the "helicopter landing pad" and jem's (or jam's, whatever) steps. oh, and lisa, i'm pretty sure van stepped on the sixth step, and he was in college for 7 years, so beware!! and then i watched my favorite ever movie, indiana jones and the last crusade. i wish i had insane professors, and crazy classes to write about, but, alas, i do not.

stupid so. cal. edison! we had a brown out for 2 hours last nite, and i just happened to be watching an especially good episode of my new favorite show, trading spaces. no light, no fans, no opening the refridgerator for a drink of water. torture, i tell you. anyway, it's too hot. must have HE beach day soon...

our garage sell went well yesterday. my parents made me get up at six to put stuff out, so needless to say, i slept for the majority of the afternoon. but we went to ikea in the evening, so i was happy! got most of the last minute dorm supplies. i never thought that i would say this, but this summer must end soon! 4 and a half month summers are outta control! nothing left to do, and i need some kind of order in my life. 22 more days.after visiting ang i really want to move into my dorm too. steph, watch out for false email addresses. don't worry erika, they always save the fun of sex ed for the last day, and, lisa, whatever you do, DON'T step on the sixth step!!!
